As we enter the last few days of the Run4Rory campaign we thought it would be nice to update you on how the campaign is progressing.

With 3 of the 4 races completed, next Monday Robert and Neil take on their biggest challenge, the Dublin Marathon. This challenge is nothing compared to the daily challenge some of the children in Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital Crumlin or St. Catherine’s face every day. The services and support offered by Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital and St. Catherine’s is second to none.

At the time of writing Robert and Neil have raised 8,706 Euro, to everyone who has donated so far “thank you very much”. We’d really like to hit the 10,000 Euro mark. The Run4Rory campaign consists of a very small group of family and friends, during the campaign we reached out to well known names to raise awareness of the campaign, Albrights Syndrome and of course the Charities involved. We’d like to thank everyone involved who made this happen and thank those ‘well known names’ for getting involved.

However, the sole purpose of the campaign is to give something back to both Charities who provide so much for Rory and thousands of other children on a daily basis. If you have not donated so far, now is a great time. No matter how small the donation is, it will make a difference. Please reach out to family, friends and work colleagues and make them aware of the campaign as we enter the final few days.Once again, thank you for your continued support.

Bray to Roundwood Race Rescheduled

Unfortunately Rob has picked up an injury while training which means the Bray to Roundwood Half Marathon is now tentatively rescheduled for Sept 29th. We’ll keep you posted should this date change again and wish Rob all the best in his rehabilitation.

Run Killarney is billed as the world’s most breath taking and scenic 1/2 marathons through Muckross House and Killarney National Park and you’d be hard pushed to argue against that. The views were stunning, the midget flies were annoying. All in all it was an enjoyable race even if Michael Healy-Rae tried to scare off the two Wicklow men with his gun, go on Michael! Race Number Arrived!

Race number for Run Killarney 1/2 marathon arrived, no stopping us now, apart from being unfit, the weather, getting up at 5:00 AM to drive from Cork to Killarney. Missing the 6:30 AM bus from Muckross house to Molls Gap (the start line).

Only joking we can’t wait!!
